Dynamic Range
Church sanctuaries, synagogues and other houses of worship are usually quieter than other venues. The sound system must be quieter than usual to prevent audible noise in the area. This means that any mechanical noise (fans etc.) and electronic noise (buzz, hum, hiss etc.) must be eliminated. Many listening environments have a “sweet spot” at or for which the sound system performance is optimized. It’s usually where or near the operator is located in many concert and live venues. In a house of worship, every seat must be optimized for adequate signal-to-noise ratio and suitable early-to-late energy ratios. i.e. It has to sound good everywhere. By that we mean that the spoken word must be intelligible, live music must be balanced, and program music in sync with video applications at all seats.

What Do All Those Dials Do!? Don’t fret. We can assist your lay or professional staff in the correct operation of your AV systems. Of course if it’s a system we designed and installed that task will be much easier. But we can come in and fix your existing system, tune it up and help your operator(s) with that as well. If your budget does not allow for upgrades and replacements we can get your system and people to “be all they can be” This is a very teachable skill set for most people if the system is reasonably good and is setup and tuned by professionals. Most of you folks know about teaching someone to fish. This is much more predictable than fishing. And what do all those dials do? We’ll educate you.
