Installation
Professional Skill and Workmanship. An important yet often overlooked aspect of AV system design is the installation of the system. It is imperative that proper interconnect practices are carried out, and that all applicable codes are observed. A “clean” installation means that wiring has been concealed as much as possible, and that the finished system blends well with the decor of the building. Wall plates and connectors must be wired properly for the system to work correctly. JB Pro Sound will provide a meticulous check of all cables for proper termination and identification. A system wiring diagram will be provided upon the completion of the system so that future modifications to the system can be made correctly and at the lowest possible cost.
Calibration, Training and Documentation. A properly calibrated AV system will be much easier for your personnel to operate. A significant amount of expertise is required to make a system “user-friendly.” The system must be calibrated using advanced audio, acoustic and video instrumentation. Upon completion of this process, all controls that do not require user adjustment will be rendered inaccessible. After calibration, your personnel will be trained to operate the system, your documentation will be compiled and organized, and will include equipment manuals, system wiring diagrams, and operating instructions as needed.
Electrical and Power Systems Management. The first thing that needs to happen before any installation is an assessment of the venue’s electrical system. An AV system cannot be properly installed without the correct electrical panel, circuits and receptacles of the right type and in the right locations. JB Pro Sound has a licensed electrical contractor on our installation team. We can also provide quotes on all of your electrical needs
Hum and Buzz. Audible hum is a major detriment to a sound system. It usually results from improper grounding practices, either in the installation of the wiring or the actual equipment. Off-the-shelf equipment may need to be modified to work without hum. JB Pro Sound will insure that your system is grounded properly, and all system wiring is routed and shielded properly. All equipment will be tested for proper grounding, and suitable modifications made when necessary, ensuring “hum-free” operation.
Wireless Microphones and RFI. Wireless microphones provide excellent benefits for users and have become standard equipment in most AV systems. These are actually small radio stations that broadcast on a specific frequency. The selection of frequency is critical to proper operation. The operating frequencies for your wireless systems must be carefully selected to work properly in the presence of other RF broadcasts in your area, especially with the explosion of other types of wireless products on the market, including cell phones and other personal wireless devices. JB Pro Sound stays current on wireless regulation and bandwidth allocation so that we can provide the best and most trouble free wireless systems available.
Many of our design concepts and philosophies are based on principles and standards established by Pat Brown and Synergistic Audio Concepts, an audio system design and training organization. We have borrowed from and paraphrased material in our website with the permission of SynAudCon and Mr. Brown. His original article, Ten Reasons Why Church Sound Systems Cost More, was our source and inspiration for this material and the way we do business.

"Dear Jack,
I tried the neck loop this morning in church and, even in spite of my T-coil being enhanced by the audiologist, it didn't pick up the FM from the sound system.
I am really at a loss what to do, because church is so important to me. I am grateful that you had this idea of a neck loop and certainly appreciate your help obtaining it. I am sorry to have to return it to you.
Thanks again."
~ Joyce Barteldt
"Dear Jack,
Thanking you profusely for the great sound system you installed in our new worship space. And, especially thanking you for your patience in the way we needed to fund this very significant part of our project. No one ever envisioned we would be this far ahead of the game after opening the new building a little over four months ago."
~ Fr. John Jacquel
